Mom, shall we make a bead necklace like yours?

This weekend we couldn’t spend much time outside; the wind only allowed us to fly the kites. We wanted to go for a bike ride, but the gusts were too strong, so we took the opportunity to play indoors, do crafts, and read books.

Sacha is now three and a half, and he’s been asking us for a while to make a bead necklace together like the ones mom wears. So we looked for some wooden beads we had in the drawers, found a piece of cord, and made the necklace with him.

It’s something very easy and quick to make, perfect for children his age who find it hard to stay focused on the same activity for a long time. We’re sharing a few photos of the process and the final result, in case it inspires you for the rainy, cold afternoons still ahead this winter.
